Specialty fruits are a diverse group of berry and other small fruit crops which continue to grow in popularity and develop market share in the New York fruit production industry. These specialty fruits include species of ribes (currants, gooseberries, and jostaberries), aronia, elderberry, beach plum, hardy kiwi, persimmons, pawpaws, mulberries, medlars, etc.
